Why This Formula Took Time

We set out to reformulate Max Gelly with a clear goal: to keep the formula as natural as possible without compromising on performance.

✔️ We wanted curls to feel soft and touchable once dry—not stiff, crunchy, or coated, which is common with many synthetic gels (like those based on carbomer).

✔️ We wanted longevity—curls that hold for days, even up to a week, with minimal refresh needed.

✔️ We wanted less flaking, even with high-hold styles.

Finding natural styling polymers that could deliver this balance was a challenge. It took multiple rounds of testing and reformulation to achieve the right combination of hold, softness, and durability—without sacrificing curl integrity or ingredient quality.

Apply to freshly washed, conditioned hair in small sections on damp or wet strands. Use after your leave-in. Smooth through each section, and shingle if extra definition is desired. Start with a small amount—add more as needed. Allow hair to dry undisturbed to minimize frizz.
